Shhhhh!
Don't let word reach Democrats. We'll just surprise them next year.

How about,
clear eyed, free thinking, unbiased, and unfooled INDEPENDENTS? Obamas
days are only numbered if he doesn't change our country so much that the
elections are a farce like in venezuela or Iran. In that case something else
will have to happen.

All
Democrats' days are numbered if they don't start to fulfill their promises.
They were elected in 2006 primarily to end the wars and fix healthcare, if
they don't do those by the midterms, they'll lose their majority and Obama
will be a one term President.

What do
you mean by the words "factionary" and "protestant," exactly? I
suppose the right is less "factionary" than the left because it's so small
and it's been actively purging moderates under its self-defeating 'small
tent' strategy.
But I'm not sure how the Protestantism of the right will do anything to
weaken Obama's popularity or impede the advancement of his agenda. Religion
is steadily declining in importance and will continue to do so as general
educational levels increase.

{Fine. Don't put any faith in Mr. Carville's warning. One "faction"
(for example) voted for Obama as an anti-war candidate. He has not come
close to fulfilling his promise to them. The right's "protest"-antism is
necessary to keep our message out front so as to encourage those who believe
in it and those who are yet to embrace it. -ED]
Much rides
on the fallout over cap and trade and whether or not a healthcare reform
bill with teeth gets passed. Too much public outcry over out of pocket costs
for cap and trade and no quality reform on healthcare could spell disaster
for congressional Dems in '10.

It's interesting to see how a large number of
people who voted for the messi-uh are having 2nd thoughts. Just hope
their memories aren't as short as they have been in other instances.

I've had enough. From Senators through county
recorders, sheriffs and school board, I'm voting out the incumbent,
regardless of party. I'll vote in a sheriff that wants to take my
guns away. My short term discomfort is better than what we have now.
Incumbents of both parties no longer care about anything but staying
in DC. This needs to be done for the next 10 years. We can no longer
afford this runaway gov't.

[I always automatically vote against
the annual school budget but it always passes anyway -- except once.
In that particular instance the budget failed to pass but they had a
do-over election in which they presented a slightly pared budget
which passed by a landslide margin. -ED]
It's never a good idea for a political party
to become too complacent, and the Democratic party is no exception,
but it's too soon to tell if Obama's initiatives prove successful.
Your 5-point plan may be a good idea, but let me make a suggestion.
Before trying to "reach out to everyone" with the Republican
message, decide what that message is.

[Lost causes aside, everyone knows that
the message is: a smaller government with more conservative,
cost-effective, spending and programs and a return to traditional,
constitutional American values that encourage capitalism in the
largest sense and provides for an extremely strong national defense.
I'm reaching out to YOU, KRidge. Are you a gamer or a lost cause? -ED]
The dems could indeed be in for a hard fall.
The media will do their best to keep that from happening. Look at
the coverage of Iran, the carbon tax mess in the House versus
Michael Jackson. No wonder the country is in trouble. I like
the 5-point plan. Lets all stick with it.

The Ragin' Cagin' rearing his ugly head again
it appears. What's in that cue ball head of JC's is what matters and
it seems to be filled with the same old outlandish nonsense. After
the backlash soon to come from the Cap and Trade Bill that passed
today he will be on the run.

Eddie, why should we pay premiums to
profiteers for health insurance when we could pay the same or
perhaps a bit more or a bit less in taxes to the government and get
health care?

[Instead of letting the inefficient government (I mean that in a
completely non-partisan way) run something they know nothing about
(except for the voting of mo'money to keep it running even
mo'inefficiently) why aren't we "dickering" with the contractors
(doctors, hospitals, drug companies, caregivers, etc.) to give us
mo'bang-for-the-buck in our present system?
It's funny how liberals are so in favor of consumers' rights and
will come to auto dealerships loaded for bear to remove every
possible nickel of profit from the seller's column, but the same
hammer-bargainers will buy into any social program that "feels good"
regardless of cost or loss, as the liquidators say. -ED]
God help you if you think
radio talk show hosts are political leaders. They're to
politics what televangelists are to religion. You also need help if
you think Republicans are going to provide any level of fiscal
responsibility. They proved when they were last in power that they,
like the Democrats, are fiscal felons. They just talk a good game.

[I've never written that radio personalities are
any more than spokespersons -- at best -- so I don't know why you
would distort that fact. However, I do believe that someone
with Limbaugh's intellect and communications skills could probably
do a better job than, say, our current baloney-spewers who only
THINK they can talk a good game. -ED]
Your 5-point plan is not bad!
However, although number 4 is a very good idea, that is the weakest
link.
As a rule, Republicans, or Conservatives, or Indies, just don't have
the balls to group up, take a stand together, and protest anything.
The illegals have !
And I'm not talking about emails, faxes or phone calls. They grouped
together, stuck together, and went out into the streets by the
thousands, and hundreds of thousands together. They cared less about
their faces being seen in public, or being P.C., or being ridiculed
or being called names.
They had the courage to organize themselves, stand together, and
protest.
Tea Parties aren't going to get it. A few hundred or a few thousand
here and there aren't going to have much of an impact on anything or
Democrat Politicians. The smaller groups will get shouted down by
libs and the larger groups will be excoriated by the lib news media.
Same as last time.
I think, at this point, anything "less than" a million man march on
D.C., so to speak, (a couple of hundred thousand would be adequate)
won't stop the Dems from taking advantage of the "this is our
moment" attitude. And they clearly do "own" the moment.
Hope I'm wrong and the upcoming Tea Parties are a surprising
success.
Guess we'll see?
