Outright enemies (he didn’t start the wars), rogue-state dictators (he has worked through the international bodies to deal with North Korea and Iran, I guess some would only be happy if we stated two more conflicts), unresolved economic instability (a improving situation), ineffective homeland security (failed terrorist attempts that have resulted in good intel or do you mean the continuation of illegal immigration and AZ SB 1070), natural and man-linked disasters, (which have been responded to every step of the way.)

Since economic failure was avoided it is apparent to most Americans that we need to change our rules and regulation , reduce our dependence of fossil fuels and work toward conservation and sustainable energy, failure is not a choice.

eddo, good post, makes one think. It does have inherent optimism I do not share. We could read your blog and realize we are heading down the wrong direction and as voters make appropriate changes. HJ shows quite clearly this is not the case. The blind faith voting block made up mostly of people dependant on Government, Religious Environmentalists, and Government Unions, are the new American majority (a Government Party). The Constitution is an impediment to be overcome and has been over the last 75 years. The Supreme Court has failed us. The thousands of Unconstitutional Laws on the books are in themselves a precedent. We are now a Government of the entitled, by the Government Party, for the dependant. The wanton lust for future tax payer’s dollars shows the evil power and greed of such a tripartite abomination. Insecurity and envy are the new foundation of our nation. The “sky is falling” is the new cry and driving force for a pitiful nation of fools. I see as the Government Party members defend their checks with the zealotry of a Baptist at a gay pride march. I see all Socialist Nations on track to collapse in a world wide failure of Entitlement Politics. I see the printing of money to keep the checks going for a while as Governments become more foolish in the face of failure. I see the people clinging to worthless checks as they ride their beliefs over the edge of the abyss. Freedom and individual responsibility will be never be uttered again. All hail "The Obama" the great giver of checks. Where is the Kool-aid, I too must partake for I fear there isn't much left.

Like many elections, this was one with no one to vote for. Not a single fiscal conservative. Not a single small government advocate. Just a progressive choice. Both heading the same direction. Makes it hard to choose. The last man y presidential elections are interesting beasts. You end up with a Very Liberal Democrat and a very progressive republican. The liberal is painted moderate and the Progressive GOP'er is painted as the most conservative candidate to ever run by the MSM. Like the late seventies, it takes a blatant power grab to shake the average moderate voter to open their eyes and get a more fiscally competent candidate to run.

I totally agree: a president who knows no application to a skill is very much a dictator who desires things that are deemed impossible becuase he fails to understand that Supply and Demand do exist and that tradeoffs do occur! I also want to elucidate that I feel that the impeachable activities of the press and cable major news channels will also be like the burgeoning city governments (municipalities) that feel the need to “revamp” their structuring will be faced with the same dilemma, which would be a great thing indeed! Transparency in our news departments must rise or they must become more objective. When no one takes “you” serious anymore, “you” have lost all credibility and are not worthy of the shame that slides off one’s bare foot.

I think the majority of people who voted for him did not think. And as far as I'm concerned, they are just as responsible for ruining this country as the person who is in the office of President. No matter what I did not like about previous presidents--Republican or Democrat--this is the first time I believe that all those who ignored radical ideology and total lack of experience are just as responsible for all that happened and is yet to happen as is the narcissist they elected. It will only get worse before it even starts to get better--that is, if there is any chance of it getting better. But you know the mantra, eddo--it's all Bush's fault. And when the narcissist is leaving office, everything he has done will still be blamed on Bush. Because a lot of the same people who are blind followers and pretend that denial of facts makes them non-facts STILL don't think.
