Except for
the part about hyper taxing, hyper inflation, and weapons grade plutonium
levels of spending declining, I think you're right on. people are getting
tired of it and calling it what it is, same old same old Crown Party support
of the Church of Bigness and an attack on the nation and citizenry.
That's what living beyond a planets ability will bring on. I guess they left
like they deserved it and everyone would be wrong not to see it the same
way. Go figure.

eddobloggo, nice write up, but I think you've
missed an important question: WHY is the percentage of conservatives
voting for the Democratic Party so high? The left doesn't have to
"demonize and marginalize" opponents of Obama's policies, their own
behavior is enough.
The lack of Republican leadership and constant refusal to help solve
our nation's problems, combined with the far right hate speech, will
keep these voters away for a long time. When a Republican
leader finds the guts to tell Limbaugh to get lost, let me know...

[I think you missed the highlighted
quote that says "...However, an additional 22%
of Democrats consider themselves
conservative, much higher than the 3% of
Republicans identifying as liberal..."
and my subtle point that the
Democrat Party seems more likely to lose a big chunk of it's 2008
voters before the GOP loses any more of its former supporters.
Personally, I'd be happy to vote for a Conservative candidate of
either major party, a third party or a coalition -- especially if it
means getting rid of Obama sooner than later -- and my best guess is
that Limbaugh would say the very same thing. -ED]
I don't get what all the hubbub is about
Obama's leadership. I started following it in my personal life and
Im waiting to reap the rewards! For example, I live paycheck to
paycheck, but Obama showed me the way, I now just spend on my credit
cards ad nauseam, and don't pay any of my bills so I can spend that
money as well. I'm waiting to officially become a millionaire from
all this, after all, how can the worlds smartest man be wrong? Wait
- unless he isn't?
Lets just pray America wakes up before we are all saying Zieg Heil
OBAMA.

I find the conservative/liberal labels to be
tiresome at best, more like the bleatings of the ignorant extremists
from both sides. As one who is fiscally conservative, but often
labeled as a liberal because of my support of gay marriage and
dislike of war I find it very limiting to try to simlify folks to
one label or the other. Unless the terms are used as qualifiers,
they are totally useless. Kind of like hot and cold. Is my glass of
water hot or cold if it is the same temp as a cold cup of coffee and
a hot soda? Ed, I've been reading your blog for a while and I know
you are smart, but you constant beating of the conservative drum
makes you look less than intelligent. It would be nice to read your
opinions without the name calling.

No sign of inflation - in fact the signs are
just the opposite with consumer prices down. There are signs that
the GOP is galluping out of relevance, however.

Pollstering,
and opinion poll data crunching, is for chumps. Anyone with a given
agenda could take the same questions, phrase them a little
differently, and come up with completely different results. Yes,
poll trends over the long haul are indicative, but snapshots in time
are worthless. The only poll that counted for now was last November
4.

I find it
amazing how all of a sudden after five months, the conservatives are
coming back...just more conservative bullsh**. Just face the fact
that you conservative right-wing nuts are the minority and with the
way the repub party is acting, will become smaller in 2010. I also
find it amazing after eight years, you conservatives all of a sudden
care about what happens to this country, give me a flipping break.

[So you lefty Kool-Aid drinkers really
believe that a majority of American voters will allow Obama to lead
us out of Great Depression that HE created and the World War III
that HE allowed to happen? Public opinion of the Dear Leader's
programs is not what it used to be and even his vaunted rock star
popularity is down according to all polls and surveys. Not to
mention that he started out with only 53% of the popular vote.

Obama's approvals are slipping, the guy is
surviving on a corrupt media and being "cool". Korea, Iran,
and Intelligent Americans are calling his bluff and the youngster
isn't up to the challenge. The "change" the gullible voted for isn't
the change they are getting. The gay lobby is certainly in a tizzy
and other groups will follow. A clear conservative message of the
Law and the Constitution along with fiscal restraint will bring the
people back to center right. obama knows this and that is why he and
pelosi are rushing everything they can to be game changers before
the majority wakes up.

[Limbaugh, Gibson, Ingraham, Beck, Hannity,
etc.) articulate the thoughts of their audiences as the listeners
themselves are less able to do. Kind of like the way Obama makes a
speech just about every day but without the teleprompter. Unlike
Obama, however, they take real questions and comments from real
people who often disagree with them. Put another way, Rush (et al)
works for the advancement of people, not government -- which defines
Conservatism. -ED]
Hey eddobloggo...Interesting reading.
Hope the 2010 elections will bring Senate/House majority/minority
numbers much closer in line with one another. Or with luck, create a
divided Gov. again.
However, the GOP has a lot of rebuilding to do. Even though I'm a
fiscal conservative with "some" moderate social views, I purposely
neglected to vote at all in the '08' elections for lots of reasons.
Anyway, at this point, divided Gov. would be interesting and maybe
even a blessing for the U.S. !
Hope The GOP will put forth some decent candidates, without neg.
baggage, to offer up.
You know the old saying : The grass always looks greener on the
other side of the fence! Hope by 2010 that lots of the Obama indie
sheeple will think so.
Keep on a-bloggin' !
