Hey Joe,

where you goin' with that pipe wrench in your hand?

They're saying that Joe isn't a real plumber because he doesn't have an Ohio state license and isn't in good standing with the plumbers' union local. But let's face it, Joe's the only person ever to unclog the pipe that leads from Barack Obama's soothing rhetoric to his dangerous socialist philosophy.

Joe demonstrated his ability to get the job done when he seized the opportunity, while Obama was sauntering down his middle-class Toledo block, to get in the candidate's face and demand a candid answer to a simple honest question about Obama's proposed Robin Hood income tax policy.

"Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" Joe the Plumber asked.

It is ironic that the RNC and the McCain Campaign were never able to figure a way to get Obama's water to flow clear. But that's because they never called in a real plumber. Instead of getting someone like Joe they relied on patriotism and maverickism -- the rhetorical equivalents of Drano -- when getting down and dirty with a roto-rooter would have worked much better if begun earlier.

Sweaty-brow Joe Wurzelbacher (his full name is Samuel J. Wurzelbacher), who is accustomed to having his licensed plumber boss require fast, paid-by-the-minute residential performance, cut right to the chase...er...clog.

Obama and his surrogates are now trying to spin the Joe the Plumber Story away from its true importance; showing the candidate for what he really is -- a tax-and-spend liberal who would ultimately love to redistribute hard-working citizens' wealth just as it has been done by socialist regimes since the days of Lenin and Trotsky.

A Democrat Party talking point emphasizes that "Joe the Plumber owes $1,182.98 in back Ohio state income tax." All the more reason for a guy like Joe to wonder what an Obama administration might do to him tax-wise.

Even Joe the Commuter, Obama's VP candidate who never misses an opportunity to stress his blue collar Scranton heritage, is demeaning the collarless assistant plumber/would-be plumbing company owner just for being in the right place at the right time to embarrass Obama and earn his own fifteen minutes of fame in the process.

One of the best jokes I've heard during this long campaign came from an angry Democrat strategist on the panel of a Hannity and Colmes TV debate segment.  "Joe the Plumber, like Sarah Palin, was never properly vetted by the McCain Campaign," the high-strung Obama shill protested.

As if the DNC had thoroughly vetted Barack Obama prior to his rhetorical rise to being their under-qualified standard bearer.  As if Democrats knew anything whatsoever about their candidate aside from his liberal voting record and that which he had written about himself in his two self-aggrandizing get-rich-quick autobiographies.  As if Joe the Plumber had been relocated, by the McCain Campaign, to that block in Toledo the night before just in case Obama were to show up.

In the end, therefore, it could be Obama's un-vetted questionable associations and lack of mature judgment that keeps him out of the White House. But an upset McCain victory is more likely to occur as a result of Joe the Plumber throwing his monkey wrench into the Obama Campaign.

Joe is going to try to use that pipe wrench to smack some sense into the people who don't believe that giving away money (tax breaks) to people who don't pay taxes is just an attempt to buy votes. It is the old "give a man a fish, feed him for a day" thing. Down the road we will ALL be paying through the nose for this very short-sighted, poorly thought out policy!

Joe the plumber really put Obama on the spot with his question.  Maybe he should have practiced in the mirror first as the question was a moot point considering Joe's true financial situation.  He makes $40,000/year.  Obama's plan calls for tax breaks greater than McCain's cuts for anyone making under $250,000.  Joe is just another underinformed conservative without a clue of Obama's message or policies.

Giving Middle class voters a tax break is what's needed in this country.  Certainly not giving billions of dollars more in breaks to companies such as Exxon who recorded record profits last year.  At who's expense was that Joe?  Or does Joe want go ahead and pay his $1,200 in taxes and wait around for another $600 check from the feds to spur the economy.  The republicans economic policies are killing this country and making their oil industry buddies richer than they ever dreamed.  McCain has no economic policies except his continuance of burping up that Obama will raise taxes.  Someone should check his hearing.

As a small business owner, I had been thinking some of the same thoughts as Joe.  What does the $250,000 income really mean?  Does it mean money coming in and taxed like sales tax?  Does it mean net income after expenses?  That would make a world of difference in how you operate a business.  There are more questions about details that haven't been asked.  Joe had valid questions, but everyone seems to want to ignore the message and quiet the messenger.

Joe aside, it's funny that conservatives rant about Obama's 3% tax increase for the wealthy as Robin Hood socialism but pay no attention to McCain's massive redistribution of wealth through a $7000 per child tax credit that takes mainly from the middle class and gives to...the middle class. This is redistribution from the childless to those with children, and ideology based give-away that is an incredibly obvious attempt to buy votes.

["...I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody," was the part of Obama's answer to JTP that got conservatives ranting about Robin Hood Socialism.]

Joe the plumber is just Joe the liar. Not a plumber, makes less than 40K per year, owes back taxes, has a lien on his house and probably has less credit than Sarah Palin's monologue.  Even his boss says he is a right wing windbag. However, he is McCain's best source of economic brain power.

[Joe forced the truth out of Barack the Obfuscator.  Obama can't vote "Present" on the subject of wealth distribution anymore.]

McCain had this baby lost way before Joe The Un-Licensed Plumber showed up. Joe, of course, doesn't make anything close to $250,000, so if anyone thinks he is going to pay more is wrong. I would bet that you won't be paying more, too. Obama would be a light weight in taking the US to the socialist nation that you perceive when you look at the latest administration of W., which saw the first ever 2 trillion dollar plus federal budget, an expansion of socialist welfare programs of $96 billion in two years - twice as much as Bill Clinton's administration but in a third as much space of time, and his running up of a $106 billion dollar plus budget deficit.

Get real...now it's down to calling Obama a socialist. Hell why not throw in communist while you're at it. What in blue blazes are you so afraid of? As if 8 years of incompetence in the hands of the republicans isn't enough, now the attack is socialism? So Joe the Plumber has a "pipe dream". Good for him and maybe he'll realize his dream when he finally gets his license. But right now he's too busy getting a bit of celebrity via the McLame express and the stupid media. Absurd to say the least and if this is what McLame is leveraging this election on, he deserves to lose.

[Sorry I left out "communist".  My bad]

What's really funny is, Joe finally admitted he'd save taxes under an Obama plan and have more money in his pocket. (if he pays taxes, that is, I guess, since he seems to like to avoid them)

What's funny is that Obama walked down Joes street, and it took Joe to pick up one of the softballs that had been tossed at Obama and throw it back.  What's funny is when asked Joe Said Obama doesnt like to talk about VALUES because he cant buy those and give them to people. Joe is the only guy to get Obama's socialist philosophy out of the mouth Barry Obama himself. After 2 years of Campaigning it took Joe. That's too funny, and now Barry is crying foul, like they planted the words in Obama's mouth and made him admit to it.

cutting taxes for working people is socialism or welfare? what is cutting billions in taxes for people who already have billions? welfare for the rich? think about all those working people who don't pay taxes, and understand what that means. it means despite working hard, they are at or below the poverty line. joe the plumber is a great example of people whose minds are so caught up in selfishness that they vote against their own interests.
