Never mind that secular-progressives are all about excluding religion from every conversation. This is a special occasion for non-Biblical lefties who are happy to apply the Golden Rule as long as the "done-unto others" are not Judeo-Christians.
This is the sort of hypocrisy that takes an illogical step further to claim that important moments like these -- moments that they conclude could never have happened in the absence of their special support -- "prove" that only the least religious Americans care enough to help advance the faith of others.
Using the terms Christian Conservative and Religious Right on a day-to-day-basis is fine but don't ever get caught in a trap in which you would have to admit that there is such a thing as a Muslim Extremist, let alone an Islamic Terrorist. On the contrary, they conclude that the most extreme elements of Islam will call off the fatwas and jihads the very moment they learn how fairly our overhauled secular-progressive society has been treating their American brethren.
On the overlooked side of the Miss USA coin are any number of glaring questions for the PC crowd and real Muslims alike. For starters, how many times have you heard the story that there would never have been a 9/11 if it weren't for Bush1's unleashing of Desert Storm to rescue Kuwait's oil fields for himself, his son and his cronies?
Using Saudi Arabia as a major base of operations allowed American infidels, with their loose morals, alcohol, drugs and pornographic activities, to infiltrate the pristine world of Islam virtually in the shadow of Mecca. So why wouldn't an otherwise peaceful, devout believer like, say, Osama bin Laden, a man with the where-with-all to make a difference, spearhead a jihadist movement against Americans everywhere?
Never mind that the infidels were GI's willing to die to prevent Sadam Hussein from torturing the citizens of other Islamic states. Never mind that there have always been multi-cultural bleeding hearts in America who not only protested against that war but who have always been OK with things like Muslim Miss USA's and non-Christian customs, ceremonies and prayer.
If nineteen year-old GI's on weekend passes were enough to cause 9/11 and if daughters who date non-Muslims are reason enough for some Islamic fathers to commit honor killings, how do you think the folks back home will react to a young Arab-American woman flaunting her barely-covered good looks in front of millions of infidels? What if they learn that one of her pre-pageant talent shows was a pole dance in a stripper contest?
Ironically, a multi-cultural beauty contest could turn out to be just as dangerous as an oil war to our future homeland security.
