"Nonetheless, the left is still deathly afraid of her."
No fear, it's yucks. I do not know where the right get its "fear" spin. She clearly doesnt have the intellectual capacity or curiosity to hold the highest office, and is polarizing and non-electable. However, Palin does provide a near continuous source of amusement and soundbites. She is like George Bush without the power. Comedians have to have something to write about....

[I disagree about the fear factor and her intellectual capacity -- compared to Pelousy she's a genius & the First Lady of Pants Suits is a much funnier caricature of herself -- but I appreciate a real comment from you for a change. -ED]
What both parties are afraid of with Sarah is that if elected she would do exactly what she did in Alaska when she was governor. She would clean house in both parties. She would expose and investigate equally the corruption going on in D.C. and see that the culprits are prosecuted.

Yes, the left fears Ms. Palin, who cant even get over 40 some % of Republicans to believe she is qualified to be President.

[The left is now in a position to fear anyone who can get close to 40% for one of three or more parties in the next presidential election. Remember, Bill Clinton never got 50% of the vote and he was a two-timer (in more than one respect). -ED]
It appears she had her own corruption issues during her short tenure as governor. If she does run, will she clear the Katie Couric hurdle this time? I mean Katie's obviously no cupcake interview. *snickering* Eventually she's going to have to talk to real journalists, Eddo, then she's really done. She'll kill her campaign like she killed McCain's.
Romney is just as much of a twit (aka Mitt the Twitt) but at least he can BS his way through tough interviews. He and Huckabee will eat her alive if she does run. "Going Dumb" sounds more appropriate for her book title.

[As I implied in the rant, ducksauce, it's not my problem. The left is more worried about it than the right. Huckleberry isn't my problem either. I admire and share his Christianity but I'd rather have someone who actually HATES what Obama stands for run against the Marx brother. Perhaps Mitt is the best choice of the three but I'll wait patiently to see if a real Conservative candidate emerges. -ED]
I hope she makes millions selling books, stays home and lets the professional corrupt crooks deal the cards in D.C.

Eddo, Thanks for the Friday laughs. If Palin is the political machine I think she is, she could create a real anti-left movement, and be a truly powerful behind the scenes player. She just does not have the juice it takes to move forward, and she is too hated by people in both the left and right.
Only the future would tell, but we have seen that she is articulate, can raise money and knows how to build a crowd. (and she can do the amazing feat of reversing the multi-year downward trend of the Oprah show viewership numbers) That is a real good mix to be a power player, without holding office. And if she is NOT in an elected office the left will hate her even more because they cannot vote her out, they cannot create false ethics complaints.

Ya gotta love the fear of
Palin from the girly boys...
Real men and women appreciate the capabilities
of an exemplary human like the governor. More
administrative experience and government
clearances than Biden and "what's his name" put
together. Fear the message oh liberal
ones, Maybe Sarah will not run on the RINO
republican ticket, or maybe not as an
independent, but the message will remain,
Americans of all persuasions and political
thought are gathering steam from this great
American.

Wow!! Is this a 'shout

follow The Annointed One to include his cadre,
but anyone that can actually shoot a rifle and
communicate with real Americans' all across this
nation and really does not bad-mouth anyone is
alright by me and has my vote. Yea, I know how
this is going to go, but give me a better
candidate for 2012?? Oh God, please not Obama or

Left AND Right are
concerned with mavericks. They can't be
controlled. That is bad news for Dems and
Repubs both! She has more appeal than both of
the extreme factions put together. If she
didn't, they'd ignore her. They know better. I
wouldn't want to fly with her. She's really
scaring them.

The beauty of it all is
how quickly she has learned to manipulate the
media, she is learns fast, watch out! Just
look at all the free press coverage she is
getting. Palin sells.
The media would desperately love an Obama/Palin
presidential election and are actively seeking
to set one up if possible. After all it was the
press that got Obama elected in the first place.
However, Obama’s luster has worn off and the
continuous glowing reports of his non-existent
achievements (you can only fool the people so
long) aren’t pushing their product anymore.
Now if Palin were president, well that could
bring the liberal media out of financial
bankruptcy. It will be interesting to see
how it plays out.

Lombago: I find this post
most interesting as it mentions "other folks"
who were very interesting political characters.
Palin may end up being one of these very
interesting political characters, although I do
not have a clue if she has a place in the
political scene or if she will just be a foot
note. I like to read about those "characters"
that were a thorn in the side of the main stream
and sometimes were the scrap metal that got
thrown in the party machinery. There have been
elections that a 3rd party candidate only pulled
a few % points and that was enough to throw the
election one way or another. Good post malark

It's amazing. Palin has no National or
International experience, yet she is getting
mucho publicity for 'some' reason. It was also
amazing a couple of years ago when Obama, who
also had no National or International experience
got mucho publicity for 'some' reason. One of
the reasons was different but the same. Palin
because she is an attractive woman, Obama
because he is attractive black man.
The media pushes what is different and the
public falls in love with what the media pushes.
Looks play a big part in politics in this day
and age because of Television. If you put an
ugly face in front of the public for months
during a Presidential campaign, it will get
tiresome, whereas an attractive appearance will
mesmerize viewers (voters). Appearance
doesn't sell it all, but it sure makes a big
impression on many and you have to remember that
the average voter in this country is a MORON.
They will almost always vote for image rather
than issues.

I watched Bill's
interview of her last night and in my opinion
she answered policy questions kinda of weak. But
in her defense obama didn't answer the same
questions Bill put to him during the campaign
any better. After watching Bill's interview of
her the last two nights I would be hesitant to
vote for her; however, there is not a dim out
there who is any better so what can a voter do
come 2012 (maybe a blue dog democrat will step
up and tell obama and the left enough and run
against the incumbent pres)? But I’m fascinated
by the libs on their consistent, vitriolic
attacks toward her. They say she is a non-factor
and not news worthy but they keep up the
attacks. Quite interesting I say.

Palin is not
very 'deep'. She might be presidential timber in
8-16 years, depends on what she does during
those years. Obama wasn't much better but all he
had to say was "I will do things different that
George W"....that was enough for the Democrats
and many Independents.
Come to think of it neither Bill Clinton nor
George W had much more depth either...and both
were failures in their own way. The babyboomers
aren't doing too well on their selection of
politicos.

Favorite para of your
article is..."Of course I agree with Gov.
Palin's perspective and believe that her ability
to both defend herself from her attackers and to
throw their hypocrisy right back at them is in
large part responsible for the lefties' fear and
hate of this unflappable woman."
At first I thought Palin was amazingly ignorant
for talking so much, but after seeing a few
Oprah clips of her recently (I tend to analyze
the bigger perspective, instead of the details),
I now see her as a hero, a very brave woman. She
doesn't cower down is my new perspective. Too
many good people have been misrepresented in the
media (We can relate to that!!!), and she's very
articulate in clearing up some of ways the media
has misrepresented her and misconstrued her
actual words, in a graceful way. She's not
whining, and she has a right to show the public
how one-sided the general media can be.
