The title alone made me laugh and when I feel down and out I just think about the 'land of make believe' where I use to go as a child when I felt down-and-out where no one cried and good vibrations always greeted me...
There must be some way out of this mess we have been put in and I have no answer for the thieves that have robbed us of our dignity.

[This should be easier for you than most. Think like a cop! We all know that many, if not most, all the way up to the very top, are dirty. But we don't necessarily have the proof to lock up or throw out the dirty ones. What would cops do with (how would cops treat) known criminals in their community when they are quite certain that these criminals are committing crimes even while under investigation? I wrote many months ago that this president and his Chicago gang are ripe for the picking and that once the media finds a more compelling story about them, they're gone. But even I didn't think the kommie klimate would begin to chill this quickly -- so there is definitely hope for cop-like thinkers. -ED]
Lincoln and Landrieu are toast, these people not only sold themselves out but also this country.

ed, as the unofficial spokesperson for the Austin-Travis County Dear Leader Fan Club, I've been asked to dispatch the following missive from Dearleader Obama:
"When FDR proposed Social Security, all across what was I guess the equivalent of today's Internet, right --- all the newspapers and the radio shows and all that -- he was accused of being a socialist. He was going to bring socialism to America. How dare he.
When JFK and then Lyndon Johnson proposed Medicare, everybody suggested, this is going to be a government takeover of health care; it's going to destroy your relationship with your doctor. The same arguments that are being made now have been made every time we've tried to propose a significant change that ultimately made people more secure, improved our health care, improved our quality of life.
We cannot be intimidated by some of these scare tactics. We have to understand that there a lot of people who are invested in the status quo and make a lot of money out of it. We've got to also understand that people are understandably nervous and worried about any significant changes when it comes to something as important as health care, because it touches on your lives, it's very personal -- and so they're more vulnerable to misinformation."
Don't fall for the scaremongering, folks.

Nice rant. Problem is, you can't convince anyone who pays even a little bit of attention of how any of these wonderful socialist programs have ever cost/worked the way they were advertised to cost/work. But at least FDR, JFK and LBJ didn't rely on the kind of scaremongering that your Dear Leader and his kommie kronies have patented. And the media, of course, was still the PRESS back then. If you think that Americans will continue to buy into the lies of today's left then you haven't been watching the polls and you probably believe in the Tooth Fairy. -ED]
Did you happen to see the SNL Obama skit last night? I was rolling all but rolling on the floor laughing. I am sure it will hit YouTube and Fox at some point. It was hilarious.

[The thing the Dear Leader and his Chikago Marx Bros are most fearful of losing is the MEDIA -- you know, that 800lb gorilla that put this kommie on the map in the first place. When they take the next step up from ribbing him to ripping him it's all over. And you know there's so much dirt on all of them back home that an unleashed investigative press could have these guys behind bars quicker than a first grader can say: "Barack Hussein Obama mmm mmm mmm." -ED]
While I appreciate humor as much as the next guy, the healthcare reform debate is a pretty serious subject. Reluctantly, I advocate FOR passage of the health care reform, mainly because of the lack of alternatives. The Hillarycare debate was what?....early 90's?....and what alternatives did the GOP give us? Nada, zilch, zero. The article posted is as bogus as most stuff you read these days. POLLS are all over the place, and as different as the number of 'em. Voin-o-whatzit?....who cares. Wouldn't have made a difference. In short, the article posted is much ado over nothing.

[You're upset over my tongue-in-cheek approach to "healthcare reform" but end up by saying it's "much ado over nothing". This is a typical hypocritical response from someone who doesn't want to hear the other side of the story. To me, the other side of the story was in Sen. Voinovich's "speech" that was never actually delivered and might not even have been covered by the MSM anyway.
If you lefties really want REFORM you don't have to back overhaul. Reform is what the majority of this country (including ALL Congressional Republicans) really would prefer to have. Spin it any way you like, but less than 40% of Americans support Obamacare while 60% or more of their senators and reps will vote against their wishes. -ED]
Why does the left persist in calling reality "scare tactics"? Why cant they see what is coming at them with the speed of a runaway freight train? Why do they (the left) insist on name calling and vilifying anybody that speaks out against the? How can the left(democrats) justify putting blame on republicans for an imperfect bill when they have their sessions behind closed doors (so much for transparency) and will not even read the republican proposed bill? How do the democrats justify IGNORING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE? Why do the democrats think they know better than the citizens of this country what is best for them? Why cant I find my bottle of scotch?
