Anxious to launch blanket amnesty for illegal aliens a/k/a "comprehensive immigration reform legislation" -- or to issue an executive order to that effect if necessary -- the president and other members of the Obama administration are using the media to demonize "corporations" for the creation and ongoing ills of what most of us still refer to as illegal immigration. |

Transcript of a post-Comprehensive Immigration Reform
Labor Department Hearing:
"How long have you been CEO of your corporation, Jesse Williams?"
"My brother Jerry and I established J&J Home Improvement in 1997, Inspector."
"And what about your assistant, Francisco Fernandez? Has he been with you right from the start?"
"No sir, Cisco is a recent hire. We got together early one morning three or four weeks ago at the Home Depot. He has been with us ever since. Good worker!"
"Is Mr. Fernandez a good enough worker to be paid fairly?"
"Sure. Cisco says I pay him three or four times what he would make for doing the same work back in Mexico."
"Are you aware, Mr. Williams, that the minimum wage in this state is $7.25 per hour?"
"Of course I am."
"Do you pay Mr. Fernandez $7.25 an hour?"
"We pay Cisco $10 an hour."
"Can you prove that, Sir?"
"No. There are no records for our cash transactions. But Mr. Fernandez will testify. Please tell him Cisco."
"It is true, Señor Labor Inspector. Jesse he gives me ten American Dollars cash money for every hour I work. Por favor, do not arrest Jesse because he pays me off of the books and never asked to see any papers."
"No, Mr. Fernandez. We will not prosecute your boss. He really hasn't done anything wrong. He appears to be in full compliance and on behalf of the Department of Labor I personally apologize for wasting your valuable time today."
