"When everyone is a victim the government can grow to be everyone's comforter."
Wouldn't you like to be a victim too? We could start a new program for that, "Find Your Inner Victim". I know the private sector of non-profits has sort of already covered this territory but there's no reason why government should be taking that away from them to justify itself along with all those other things it would like to take to benefit the party. That's why we formed this country right, to advance the party agenda.

What is the point you are trying to make of all this? Are you somehow trying to place the blame on Obama, or the Obama administration? What if Obama said that it was an act of terror, perpetrated by a muslim. We are already fighting in two muslim countries. This major was born and raised in America, we really couldn't start bombing the country, because of it.
Why not just cut to the chase...it was perpetrated in the name of his religion. The 13 was killed in the name of religion, just like millions of innocent people have been killed in the name of religion !! Why complicate the issue ?

[The military, the FBI and God knows who else knew about the shooter. The issue is "complicated" by their inaction as a result of PC and the fear of offending "minorities". This is what Obama et al stand for. In that respect, they helped pull the triggers at Ft. Hood. Yes, they are to blame! Religion, Islam or any other, has nothing to do with this incident. Fanaticism -- like yours' and the rest of the PC kommies' and the shooter's fanaticism is what this is about. -ED]
My money says this guy was just nuts. Him being a psychiatrist only supports my theory because most of them seem to be CCFCCP. A close friend of mine works at a community mental health facility, he always tells me that the people evaluating the nuts are the ones that should be in padded cells. He's also claimed to have bagged every female doc in the place, he says that's main reason he stays is due to the place being riddled with sexual depravity. Most of my co-workers are men (41 0f 43, and many of them are fat and hairy) so obviously I've always been quite jealous of his work environment.

These are all legal guys and they love the legal nuances. If the major had used an explosive vest instead of a pistol we wouldn't be having this debate, we would all agree it was a terrorist act.
The generals realize with PC people in charge they have to play the game if they want to advance to the highest level. So they haven't played the terrorist card either...or even discussed it. No one trusts the American legal system entirely and are afraid any screwup on their part might set the major free...or keep him from the gallows.
Have you noticed the only comment from Napolitano, head of Homeland Security, is that the border is safe enough now to enact immigration 'reform'!?! Nothing about what happened in Ft Hood. This is Obama's way of avoiding the terrorist question, by hiding the HS head. Obama doesn't want to be known as having the first terrorist act on our soil since 9/11. That is what is important to the political game players he has surrounded himself with.

At least Rachel Maddow of MSNBC showed clear thinking when she stated: "We begin tonight with another deadly act of domestic terrorism."
Oops! Sorry, that was from her story on the murder of abortion doctor Tiller. As far as Ft. Hood is concerned, she stated:
"'And the charges today didn't include anything related to terrorism,' Maddow said. 'Terrorism is not just conceptual political jargon. It's a legal term and it has interestingly changed over the past few years. In order for something to be legally considered terrorism, do you have to be taking instructions from a terrorist group? Do you have to have some sort of clear political motive behind the violence? Is it about the way that you commit the crime, what sort of weapons that you use in doing? Is it about how many people that you kill in your crime? Is it about the specific type of people you target, whether they're civilian or military?'
'If you're interested in more than just making political hay out of the Fort Hood case, these are the sort of legitimate questions you would want to ask before labeling this or any case an instance of terrorism,' Maddow said. 'Those who are calling this terrorism or making their case in large part because Maj. Hasan is a Muslim and because he's alleged to have said ‘God is great' before the shootings. And while it might make for exciting politics to argue murders by committed religious Muslims are presumptively terrorist acts, those exciting political allegations actually say a lot more about the people making them than they do about the real character of the tragedy at Fort Hood and how we, as a country, should respond to it'"
I'm glad Maddow and MSNBC don't practice double standards.

The argument is a non
sequitor. The fact that this individual was a
devout practicing Muslim and he committed a
heinous act of violence towards Americans does
not automatically mean that this was a terrorist
act. There is as much evidence to support that
he acted not on ideology but because of his
personal situation. The jury's still out but
nonetheless the warhawks are chomping at the bit
to use this situation to bolster their
bloodthirsty craze towards more war in the
Middle East.

[Sorry, but you're wasting
"fairness energy" on this one. Sorry also to
quote myself, but here's the lead paragraph from
my last commentary written considerably before
most of the "terrorism" evidence was released...
Evidence is growing that
the massacre at Fort Hood was as much an act of
radical Islamist terrorism as were the 9/11
attacks and the uncountable number of
suicide-homicide bombings that have occurred in
the Middle East. Even if it turns out that this
mass murderer had merely "snapped" it certainly
does not prove that the rest of the jihadists
are wrapped any more tightly. And if
he isn't one, then he certainly emulated them in
his "sickness". -ED]

This was a clear case of
treason and terrorism by definition and fact.
Hasan, an American military officer, swore an
oath to preserve, protect, and defend the US
Constitution from all enemies, foreign
and domestic. To identify Hasan as as devout
Muslim practicing Jihadist death cults is an
insult to Islam and Muslims because it would be
the same as equating Jim Jones with Baptist
Christians. Neither were religion. They were
death cults. Ignorance to the difference in PC
mentality, progressive thinking were just as
culpable for enabling Hasan as Osama Bin Laden.
This was an
act of war, treason and terrorism by an
American against Americans on behalf of a
foreign enemy waging war on our nation. It it
time to be honest and call it what it is. Our
fallen deserve much better from the media, our
elected officials, and the
military chain of command.

Call me an alarmist, call

is my FIRM belief that Obama if not a Muslim he
is very soft on Islam having studied as a
Muslim. Personally I believe he really is a
Muslim in his heart and sooner or later he will
do a so-called "conversion to Islam".
Obama will do his BEST to soften ANY and ALL
jihadist attacks, as well as anything else the
Islamics want to do.. I do not believe there are
ANY moderate muslims.
After reading their koran
(or parts of it) I find them to be a VERY
condemning and DANGEROUS religion... For the
muslims Islam is not just a religion it is also
a pollitical affiliation demanding obedience to
the Koran and the Imams.
I repeat THIS PRESIDENT IF NOT A MUSLIM, IS A
MUSLIM AT HEART. and he will do all in his power

like a cancer that mutates and morphs into other

Some interpretations of
the Quran promote the concept that non-muslims
are subhuman. To the significant plurality of
muslims who believe in that concept, killing a
non-muslim isn't a criminal act or even
anti-societal--it ranks right up there with Boy
Scout good deeds. However, it's not politically
correct to point out little details like that.

support allowing this tragedy to become another.
Texas Corvette points out that the Koran allows
for the killing of non muslims but fails to
associate that the bible also supports this
logic to some degree. Should all Christian
anti-abortionist regardless if they support the
murder of doctors or commit them, be tried for
terrorism or all be held suspect because of the
acts of a few? How about those Christians that
support violent acts against gays and employment
and housing discrimination because of religious
beliefs? Terrorist? Safeguards were missed but
they should be applied equally to all and
innocent till proven guilty while not perfect is

What the act of terrorism committed at Fort Hood shows more clearly than any other event is Obama's twisted logic in thinking leadership means "not jumping to conclusions" when the facts are plain as the noses on our all our faces or that leadership means not "jumping" to anything remotely resembling compassion or empathy in the immediate wake of the tragedy.
What would it take for our purported president to depart from his tele-prompted script full of shout-outs and thank you's for allowing him to grace the stage? A full blown nuclear attack? Only if the teleprompter says so. The man's an empty suit and, what's worse, a heartless soul. A real leader would've told his teleprompter to shove off and spoke, instead, directly to the American People from his heart. If he had one.
Good blog, Eddo. To say Fort Hood was a terrorist attack would be to admit that George Bush and Co. was on the right track and that Obama has made us not safer, but more insecure. God knows no one in the lamestream media or the White House, even the not-so-hallowed halls of Congress wants to admit that.
