Sneak Peek: GM's Latest TV Spot

Rick Wagoner, GM Chairman and CEO is selling GM stock on TV. Read the ad copy provided exclusively by eddobloggo.Rick Wagoner here, Chairman and CEO of General Motors.  Did you know that for less than the price of one gallon of gas you can own a share of GM preferred stock?

That's right!  For less than what it would cost to ship the wedding ring from your first marriage to a gold-melter you could be a proxy voter in the world's second largest automobile company...manufacturer of Buick, the largest-selling brand in China.

Like gold, General Motors stock has never been worth zero.  But unlike precious metals, GM stock is backed by the full faith and credit of the US government or the Federal Bankruptcy Court -- whichever occurs first.

Why keep your money in a bank owned by the same outfit that owns just about everything else when you still have the opportunity to be a private investor -- a stockholder in the future of the free world?

So hurry and order your GM stock while the supply is good and private corporate ownership is still completely legal.  Just call any stock broker to place your order NOW before this offer expires.

Announcer Tag:

But wait!  If you're among the first thousand people to order, GM will send you a complimentary gift certificate for the Sunday New York Times.  That's a $5 value FREE with your order of bargain-priced GM stock.

Or...you can trade your complimentary Sunday newspaper coupon for 11 shares of preferred New York Times stock.  They're a lot lighter, less messy and will probably be worth more than the seven pounds of newsprint on Monday.

Offer may be rescinded by Congress or by Executive Order.  Void where prohibited by law.

Maybe once they've received sufficient Federal funding, they should just run an ad with the CEO saying "OK, now that we've got your money if you want to get paid back buy our cars."

[But wait! That would be way too practical. -ED]

Yeppie, that'll get me to buy a GM product. Explaining how the company has been mismanaged for the past 40-years. Been about that long since GM came out with a good looking car...well they do make the Corvette and a couple of others...but all in all the look and styling is BORING. Notice I didn't even mention "gas mileage"...that's a whole other story.

[But to be fair, TLA, is an Accord or a Camry nicer looking than, say, a Chevy Malibu or Pontiac G6? Do their comparable engines get better gas mileage than GM's? Perception (another media hoax perpetuated by Consumer Reports and others) is 90% of reality and why the "Japanese" brand cars and media idols like the prez are rated so highly. - ED]

So what did they choose...give the money to the people and WE stimulate the economy and help those [hurting] companies or give it to investment bankers and those who...steal and create ponzi/madoff/stanford schemes just get to have Sheryl Crowe concerts or spa vacations?

1. Give every current taxpayer a $110K debit card good for US-manufactured goods and services.  GM cars.  Delta Airlines tickets...no foreign products or cash withdrawals or loan pay-downs.
2. Give the money to AIG, Lehman Bros, Citibank, Citibank, Citibank, and
Northern Trust...

The first thing that needs to go in GM is the CEO, Rick Wagoner. He's bled and led this company into a downward spiral that just won' t quit.  So nice of our leaders to continue to pour our tax dollars into this attempt to save a company that is already sunk !!!

They need to run the old C.A.R.E. B&W TV commercial where Weary Willie pastes the dollar bill on the pitiful starving child's tin cup...Just change it to C.A.R.S.

My Daddy, who died in October 2008, felt that GM was somewhere between FDR and the Kennedys, just a little bit higher than the French.  If he had lived long enough to see GM collapse, he might have been inspired to live another 10 years.

The funny thing is that a little article he wrote was published in Reminiscence Magazine after his death, and as a thank-you gift they sent him a little model Chevrolet.....

How about I just keep the ring?
