 Progressive elitists need to make absolutely certain that they are perceived to be smarter than everyone else in everything they say and do. There is just no room for misspeaking, misquoting, misinterpretation, misrepresentation and, least of all, blundering.
Perfection is the name of the progressive elitists' game. So, if a progressive elitist president and/or his White House staff are going to risk impeachment, it makes all the sense in the world to get an expert involved; someone who knows all the ins and outs of keeping the media and the opposition guessing about what was known and when you knew it; someone who can parse the daylights out of even the toughest, most direct and potentially incriminating questions; someone who has been there, done that and proudly wears the t-shirt.

When there's real work to be done and all you see around you are progressive elitist nancyboys, you want to select someone from the outside (but not too far outside) who doesn't mind getting his hands soiled in the process of servicing his country; someone gutsy enough to cheat on his wife while she's in the next room; someone willing to be dropped behind enemy lines to be a hero; someone who would risk an imminent heart attack by continuing |

to be a workaholic and by eating most of his meals on the Rubber Chicken Circuit; someone you can blame it all on in the event that your impeachable offense somehow gets discovered.
There would be no stained dress in a plastic bag somewhere that would force the courier to reveal your secret. Likewise, there were no wannabe whistleblowers who would seize an opportunity to gain 15 minutes of fame and a book deal -- not in an environment consisting of nothing but Democrats for as far as the eye can see. Besides, every Democrat realizes that his Dear Leader's agenda and persona are way too big to fail and would protect them at any cost.
Who could ever have imagined that a fellow seasoned Democrat politician would gratuitously go on the record to create and/or expose the offer of "a job" in return for canceling his campaign for a Senate seat in order to help insure the victory of the administration's candidate of preference?
So if you were one of those progressive elitist White House geniuses you would have sent someone who got caught lying and was subsequently impeached himself, wouldn't you?
